I dont think Amazon's actions presage the new normal by any means. Parler was festering an outrageous and egregious language of hatred and inciting the insurraction we saw. If some drunk in a bar starts a fight, you kick his ass and throw him out. That doesnt mean you are going to start throwing out everyone you disagree with. You would go out of business. If they had silenced a more reasonable app and its users for less compelling reasons, there would have been appropriate blow back. That kind of defense attorney thinking leads to rampant nonsense in the name of free speech. PLUS must I point out, Amazon is not the US government and being a private company, can do whatever the hell it wants. Social media has become as powerful as the news media and must be regulated and held accountable as such, because we have proven as a society that we just can't have nice things and will have our toys taken away form us if we dont play nice .
